Ten...Nine...Eight... to help the children in distress through telephone calls. CHILDLINE is a toll free round the clock telephone service to provide timely assistance to the children in difficult circumstances. The project is the brainchild of the CHILDLINE India Foundation, Mumbai and subsequently implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India in 39 major cities of our country. In Orissa, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Puri are maximum number of children through telephone number is----1098, very easy to remember Ten-Nine-Eight. Any one finds a Child in distress can dial us on the above number.

The project aims at ensuring the basic rights of the child i.e. Child's Survival, Protection, Development and Participation.

What we do for these children?

Street Children.
Working Children.
Physically and mentally abused children.
Victims of flesh trade.
Children in conflict with the law.
Mentally ill children.
Children affected by HIV\AIDS.
Children affected by disasters and natural calamities.
Child prostitutes.
Child political refugees.
Differently abled children, children in the institution.
Children from disturbed families.
Children in general health hazards.


1. Started two schools in the slums.
2. Fortnightly health camps in the slums.
3. Distribution of clothing, soaps and educational aid among the children.
4. Provide medical assistance to the poor children.
5. Trace out parents/guardians of missing children.
6. Counsel to disturbed and erratic juveniles.
7. Legal assistance to poor delinquent juveniles.
8. Hold family planning camps in the slum areas.
