BACKGROUND Basundara arranges regular health camps twice weekly for the children living in slums. During interaction wIth the slum dwellers and children, our activists found some children inclined towards study, so also their parents. But due to situational adversities and precarious financial conditions, the parents can not but force their children to adopt working life prematurely. A lot of school dropouts are a direct result of this. Their family members see them as bread earners. Now the situation is such that the children themselves are craving for education both formal and vocational. Personal interaction with them reveals that there are quite a handful of hidden talents in various aspects among them. All they need is timely assistance an encouragement. To help them in realising their potential, we are starting this programme with your support-SPONSOR A CHILD.

OBJECTIVE The programme aims at bringing back those children to schools, who for some reason or the other could not have started schooling or have been made dropouts. Back in school means they will get a chance for their overall development. Our objective is to provide them a decent childhood to the extent possible, in terms of education, food, clothing, health, sanitation, recreation, etc. and bringing them back to the mainstream of national development. We will be only a meium for channelising your generous contributions in reaching these children and simultaneously ensure that your hard-earned money is properly utilised.

TARGET GROUP/BENEFICIARIES Impoverished Slum Children, Talented School Dropouts, Physically and Mentally Challenged, Sexually Abused, Child Labourers, Orphaned and Abandoned Children.
